Maureen Dahl

Maureen Dahl is an Attorney Investigator and Adjudicator with Van Dermyden Makus Law Corporation. She conducts Title IX investigations and serves as a Title IX Adjudicator. She has investigated matters at the K-12, Community College, and University levels. She understands best practices in the Title IX arena, and the challenges facing schools and parties when sexual violence allegations surface.

Maureen has experience investigating claims of sexual harassment, sexual assault, and complaints involving college athletics. She also conducts workplace investigations involving harassment, discrimination, bullying, retaliation, and other workplace misconduct. Maureen has completed Hearing Officer Trainings and Trauma Informed Forensic Interviewing. She is certified in the Forensic Experiential Trauma Interview (FETI) Methodology and has conducted research on the impact trauma has on the brain.

Prior to joining Van Dermyden Makus, Maureen worked as a Law Clerk for a Public Interest law firm where she drafted legal updates for school districts, prepared materials for trainings on sexual harassment and special education compliance, and guidelines for investigating discrimination complaints.

Maureen is licensed to practice law in California. She earned her Juris Doctor from the UC Davis Martin Luther King Jr. School of Law. She graduated in the Order of the Coif and earned Public Interest and Pro Bono Certificates. As a law student, she volunteered with the Legal Services of Northern California, served as a Senior Article Editor for the Journal of Juvenile Law and Policy, organized campus events as the Chair of Students United for Reform and Justice, worked as a Research Assistant, and tutored first-year law students.
